Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What are your evidence submission hours?
Evidence may be submitted by law enforcement agencies from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday-Friday, and by appointment.

How do you request a tour?
Unfortunately, at this time, we are no longer offering tours due to the current focus and work load of the laboratory.

Can I do an internship or job shadow?
We do not offer job shadow opportunities due to privacy, sample integrity, and biological hazards.  We do have rare opportunities for internships; however, they only occur when special projects come up that are appropriate for an intern.  These projects don’t involve handling or testing of the evidence.  Our interns must be at least 18 years of age, pass a background check, and are unpaid.  If you are interested, feel free to submit a resume to the laboratory; we will contact you only if we have a position to offer you.

Where are you located?
We are located at 45 State Drive in Waterbury, Vermont.

Take Interstate 89 to the Waterbury Exit (Exit 10) turn onto Route 100.  Take a Left onto South Main Street (U. S. Route 2, proceed through the roundabout).  After approximately one mile take a right into the South Entrance of the State Complex.  We are on the left with the Vermont Criminal Justice Services (look for the green awning).
